The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss is a model under the Rolex umbrella. It was first introduced in 1956 and was designed as an antimagnetic watch specifically for those who worked in electromagnetic fields, such as medical facilities, research labs, and power plants.

Anti-magnetic watches are defined as those that are able to operate with little, to no deviation, under levels of magnetic fields. The reliability and precision of an ordinary mechanical watch can be affected by a magnetic field of 50 to 100 gauss. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss, however, is the solution and is able to withstand thousands of gausses.

The first model of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss was very similar to the Rolex Submariner with the oversized case and bezel designed. Currently, Rolex Milgauss Watches changed its design of the original leaf shape to the “Mercedes Style” and lightning bolt second hand. A plain, smooth finished bezel replaced the Submariner-style, which eventually let to the launch of three versions of the Rolex Milgauss: the Anniversary Edition or GV (Glace Verte), one with a black dial and one with a white dial.
